About Meridian One

Meridian One Speech, a trading arm of Meridian One Consulting, was created by John Rye in 2006,to provide low-cost alternative text-to-speech (TTS) to users worldwide who need responsive, fast-talking intelligible speech.

In July 2006 Meridian One acquired the Orpheus TTS engine from Dolphin Oceanic Ltd, a member of the Dolphin Group of companies.  Meridian One radically changed the marketing position and distribution mechanism of Orpheus to match its worldwide-distributed audience and so chose web-based approach as best match to this market.

Meridian One's Orpheus TTS is unique in its design and ability to render intelligible speech at the fastest talking rates, a real and valued benefit to those who use speech day-to-day as their primary means of access to text.  Orpheus has a long pedigree and is favoured by many blind and visually impaired users of PC software worldwide.

Orpheus TTS and Orpheus TTS Plus may be downloaded from this site as free 30-day evaluations.  Activation licences for unlimited use can be purchased by clicking on the Activate Now button on the installed Configure Orpheus control panel or from the links on this site's products page.
